All that I am…
(a song)
Oh, that I could dance a waltz
to bring you everlasting fame.
Or, sing a song to spread your love,
convincing all to trust your name!
Oh, that I could speak to crowds
and make the multitudes cry out,
“Tell us of ‘the way, the truth;
the life’ ¹ with God we’ve heard about.”
I’d sing and dance for you,
speak to crowds for you,
win my world for you,
give my all for you!
Oh, that I could paint the sky
in brilliant colors, blended tones,
write the message of redemption
on the mountains, trees, and stones!
Oh, that I could give great treasure,
riches for your kingdom’s reign,
make offerings and sacrifices,
given to bring eternal gain!
I’d sing and dance for you,
speak to crowds for you,
win my world for you,
give my all for you!
But what I bring is all I have.
‘Tis but a drop to quench this fire.
No fount to satisfy my thirst,
or salve for unfulfilled desire.
“Child, you are enough.
All gifts of love are good!
Though you are but dust, ²
you did what you could.” ³

The photo for this poem points to people who give of their time and resources to help others in need. People of all faiths or no faith do this. It is a valuable and wonderful thing to do—to help our fellow humans. Many Christians do this to bring glory to Christ, as do I. Helping others in need is more practical than dancing, singing, giving a speech, or painting a painting for Christ, especially because I haven’t been given those specific gifts.
So, for me, I think the main thing I do to express my love for Christ is write. This website gives me great joy because it is my attempt to show the world how my wonderful Savior has effected my life. I still have fears, low moments, trials, make mistakes, and have rotten thoughts from time to time. But, I also think Jesus is amazing and I have been changed for the better by believing in Him. I hope to introduce others to my Savior, who loves us in spite of our failings.
